A modular valve solution in robotics

Our partner develops robotic systems that perform an automatic Cleaning in Place (CIP) cycle three times a day. Initially, this cleaning process relied on individual valves that had to be interconnected. This setup posed significant challenges: it required a lot of space, was costly, and lacked modularity for different system configurations.

What did we achieve in this case?

Brainstorming together: from problem to opportunity

In close collaboration, we searched for new approaches. During joint brainstorming sessions, the concept of fully modular valve housings emerged: 2-way and 3-way configurations that can literally be connected in any desired sequence. The innovative design includes a compact operator mounted on top of the system, with optional valve position monitoring for complete process control.

“Listening carefully to real challenges is where true innovation begins.”

From concept to working reality

The journey from idea to production required thorough engineering and extensive validation. We designed the functional system and optimized it for production, assembly, and ultimately usability. The final design choices resulted from joint testing under realistic operating conditions.

More than 10 years of reliable delivery

This system has now delivered reliable performance in various configurations for over a decade, to the great satisfaction of our partner.

This project illustrates how our Build-to-Need philosophy works: by listening very carefully to real challenges, we create solutions that not only solve the immediate problem but also open up new possibilities for modular system construction.
