Education: Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands.
Gert became an engineer because he was attracted to the beauty and dynamics of moving mechanisms, robots, and mechatronics.
His Ph.D. focus was the design of robotic hands for industrial applications. The research involved the quantification of metrics in calculating and measuring the grasp performance of underactuated hands.
Before joining The Gevasol Group, Gert was a product development engineer for autonomous milking robots with a focus on mechanics, robotics, fluid control, sensor development, and data analysis. Gert continues to apply his expertise at Gevasol as he initiates and leads design and manufacturing projects involving valve systems.
