Do Not Forward!

Do Not Forward.

In every organization, there are those people—when something lands on their desk, it doesn’t get passed along.
No forwarding, no “reply all,” no “this isn’t mine.”
They read it, stop, and take care of it.

These individuals possess a certain quality—a trait that’s difficult to pinpoint. It’s not just commitment, not just responsibility, and not only professionalism either.

When I tried to put my finger on it, what came to mind was generosity.
Generosity is the act of doing something without expecting anything in return—no credit, no praise, and no recognition. It’s not about standing out; it’s about responding to what the common good calls for.

Ari Weinzweig put it exactly right:
“Everyday, quiet, invisible generosity—the kind that holds the organization together from within.”

If you lived in a kibbutz back in the day, you know what that means.
You see what needs to be done, and you just do it.

If something spills on the dining room floor, you wipe it up. Not because it’s “your” job, but because it matters. So Rochaleh doesn’t have to run around. So Horowitz doesn’t slip.

It’s not just responsibility and professionalism—it’s the generosity of people who live the “togetherness.”
